FERTILISATION

When the sperm cell and the egg cell combine and form one new cell, called  a ZYGOTE.

The zygote divides many times to form a group of cells called an EMBRYO. After about six days, the embryo joins itself to the wall of the uterus.



PREGNANCY

Pregnancy is the time between the fertilisation of an egg and the birth of a baby. 

Key words related to pregnancy are: PLACENTA, AMNIOTIC SAC, FETUS and  UMBILICAL CORD.

BIRTH

Birth is when the baby leaves the uterus through the vagina.

1.  Key words related to birth are: navel or belly button, afterbirth and mammary glands.


MENSTRUATION

It is a series of activities every 28 days that a woman’s ovaries and uterus perform when the puberty starts. 

It includes the OVARIAN CYCLE and the UTERINE CYCLE.

The first day of a menstruation is the beginning of a new ovarian cycle and a new uterine cycle.

PUBERTY
It is a process in which the human body prepares itself for the reproductive process. The reproductive organs become mature and secondary sex characteristics appear:
